American soldiers in Libya: Obama WH’s “no boots on the ground” a lie

A former rebel fighter rests at the northern gate of Bani Walid, Libya, Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. Revolutionary fighters struggled to regroup Saturday outside the loyalist stronghold of Bani Walid after being driven back by fierce resistance from followers of Muammar Qaddafi, temporarily quieting one battlefield. It turns out we do have American soldiers in Libya—those “boots on the ground” the Obama White House said weren’t there.

According to this Fox News video, there are four American soldiers in Libya.  Since February the Obama White House has insisted there were none, and there weren’t going to be any.  That was a lie.  Even though there are only four American soldiers in Libya, that’s not zero, which is what we were told by the Obama White House.

The real issue is not that there are four American soldiers in Libya, but that we were lied to about it.  When someone takes a polygraph test it’s not what they did in their past, but whether they lie about it.  If the Obama White House lied about this, what else is it lying about?  If Obama will lie about such a small number of soldiers, he will lie about things a lot bigger than that.

There are American soldiers in Libya right now.  We’re told they are working for the US State Department, most likely so they won’t be associated with any involvement by the US Defense Department.  There’s one small catch to this, however:  they are paid by the Department of Defense so that means DoD has American soldiers in Libya—“boots on the ground.”  The Obama White House can spin this all it wants, but a lie is a lie.

Get ready for more revelations about American soldiers in Libya and our involvement there.  I suspect this is the tip of the iceberg.
